I was particularly pleased to spot this shot because to me it looked like a general surveying the scene over castle walls. The emphasis on the sea wall, and the fact that the character is pushed into the side of the frame is an attempt to stimulate interest in what might be hidden. Perhaps even a sense of narrative. The low angle was due to the fact that I was walking up steps. Had I been at the man's level I think the shot would have been ruined. Especially if that meant revealing the panorama which he is looking at Would you have cropped further? I was wondering if it might have been wiser to chop the right hand edge off completely, and lose the railings. |
